The Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland supports community nursing across the length and breadth of the country. As the organisation has grown and evolved, its website needed to better reflect the wide range of development opportunities available to Scotland’s community nurses and midwives. It also had to inspire and empower them to tackle health and care inequalities.

The redesign focused on simplifying the structure and strengthening key journeys through the site. Content was reorganised to highlight the organisation’s impact and make it clearer how nurses, partners and supporters can engage.

To make it more user-friendly, the sitemap was streamlined and navigation simplified. Calls to action were clarified, particularly around the donation journey which is vital for third-sector organisations like QNIS to keep on delivering their services.

Typography and visual elements were refined to improve readability and bring greater consistency across the site. Accessibility was considered throughout the design process, ensuring the platform meets WCAG AA standards.

Behind the scenes, the site was built around modular components, giving the internal team flexibility to manage and update content over time.

The result is a website designed to enhance both communication and action, helping visitors better understand the organisations’ vital work and how they can contribute towards it.
